Now a days we all suffer from tension which has a very bad effect on our health.

This question must have arisen in your mind that what is the relation of smelling shirts in tension. A study has revealed that smelling your husband or boyfriends shirt can actually reduce stress. According to this research, when women smell their boyfriend or husband’s T-Shirts, they get relief.

“Many people wear their partner’s shirt or sleep on their partner’s side of the bed when their partner is away, but may not realize why they engage in these behaviours,” said Marlise Hofer, the study’s lead author and a graduate student in the UBC department of psychology. “Our findings suggest that a partner’s scent alone, even without their physical presence, can be a powerful tool to help reduce stress.”

According to the research’s lead author Marlis Hofer, a graduate student of the University of British Columbia, many women wear shirts of their partner or when they do not have their partner around, they sleep in that part of the bed.

The smell of partner is very powerful, said Hofer that this research helped to know that the scent of husband or boyfriend can work like a powerful tool. Especially when your partner is not close to you. Their fragrance can actually make them feel around them so that they feel safe.

Strangers smell fears them:

“From a young age, humans fear strangers, especially strange males, so it is possible that a strange male scent triggers the ‘fight or flight’ response that leads to elevated cortisol,” said Hofer. “This could happen without us being fully aware of it.”
