Chitrangada Singh Expresses Her Concern About Women’s Mental Health

The coronavirus pandemic has harshly affected the world in many ways. Amid the lockdown, it can become tiresome for women who are trying their best to take care of their families. Speaking about the same, Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh explained that it is important to focus on the mental health of women during the lockdown and the whole family needs to come together to help her.

She also urged womeb to not push themselves too hard in order to take care of their families.

In an statement, the Inkaar actress said, “The mental health of the women in the family affects everyone and it’s important to encourage people to talk about it. People should absolutely not make women feel guilty about having any kind of issue or stress or anxiety. There is no bravery in fake toughness. We all are weak at times, and it’s good to make people feel that it is all okay and normal. I believe the very important step is to talk about it in the first place.”

Suggesting that the work load should be shared with other members of the family, she said, “If the family’s work is divided among all the members of the family, then it will not be difficult. I suggest that a person help in managing the day to day tasks or in kitchen or children’s work. You can come forward in turn to do this. It is important to take some time to talk to the women of the house and also know how she feels physically and mentally. “

In a recent interview, when the “Bazaar” actress was asked to give a message to women on International Women’s Day, she said, “I would like to ask Indian women to empower themselves. Being financially independent gives you options and the freedom to choose. It provides independence of thought. Having a mind of your own is key to living freely. And that almost remains the backbone of feminism. Making yourself capable is the first battle we need to fight.”
