The movie inspired by Debashish Basu and Sucheta Dalal’s book The Scam: Who Won, Who Lost, Who Got Away, is now the biggest hits of 2020. Starring Pratik Gandhi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Sharib Hashmi, Nikhil Dwivedi and Hemant Kher in lead roles. The movie portrays the life of Harshad Mehta, who was a stockbroker during the 80s and took the stock market to dizzying heights and which lead to his downfall.

2 Special Ops

Special Ops

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, this is an Hotstar original series and has a star cast with amazing talents, stars like Kay Kay Menon, Muzzamil Ibrahim, Saiyami Kher, Karan Tacker, Divya Dutta, Sharad Kelkar, Meher Vij and Vinay Pathak. The series is based on the manhunt which went on for 19 years for the 2001 parliament attack accused. The stars have given some excellent performances. 

3 Panchayat

Panchayat is by Amazon Prime Video and has a very realistic story telling with which it will win your heart. The cast of Panchayat includes Neena Gupta, Jitendra Kumar and Raghuvir Yadav. All three delivered amazing performances. The series revolves around the story of Abhishek, an engineering graduate who due to lack of better jobs, opts to join as secretary of panchayat office in a remote village of Uttar Pradesh.

4 Jamtara


The very first India Original by Netflix was Jamtara. The series tells use a story of a district in Jharkhand which turned out to be the biggest hub for digital crime a few years ago. The series stars, Amit Sial, Anshumaan Pushka, Aksha Pardasany, Sparsh Shrivastav and Monika Panwar. Directed by Soumendra Padhi. The crime thriller revolves around the tale of phishing business which is run by school dropouts and how they gain attention of a politician, media and law enforcement agency.

5 Aarya


This is the comeback series for Sushmita Sen, and she has given a very powerful performance in the series. Aarya is a Disney+Hotstar VIP series. The series is adapted from a Dutch series Penoza. It has a very intriguing storyline. Starring Sikander Kher, Namit Das, Chandrachur Singh, Ankur Bhatia and Manish Choudhary. Directed by Ram Madhvani.

6 Mirzapur


Mirzapur is the biggest hit of 2020. It must be on your binge-watch list. Season 1 was released in 2019 and the sequel told the story of Guddu Pandit played by Ali Fazal who attempts to take over the throne of Mirzapur from Pankaj Tripathi who plays the role of Kaleen Bhaiya after his son killed Guddu’s Brother Bablu played by Vikrant Massey and his wife Sweety played by Shriya Pilgaonkar.

7 State of Siege: 26/11

State of Siege

This series is based on the book Black Tornado: The Three Sieges of Mumbai 26/11 written by Sandeep Unnithan. The series will take you on a roller coaster ride giving you the true account of various events that took place on November 26, 2008 which turned into a very prolonged terror siege. The series stars Arjan Bajwa, Vivek Dahiya, Sid Makkar, Arjun Bijlani and Mukul Dev.

8 Paatal Lok

Directed by Avinash Arun Dhawre and Prosit Roy. Paatal Lok is a crime thriller which is one of the best series to binge-watch on Amazon Prime Video. The show stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhishek Banerjee, Neeraj Kabi and Gul Panag in lead roles. Everything has been portrayed well in the series, from politics of the country to the plight of journalism.

9 She

She is directed by Arif Ali and Avinash Das and has Aaditi Pohankar play the lead role. She plays the role of Bhumika Pardesi, a female constable who is sent undercover to expose a drug cartel. The series is written by Imtiaz Ali. It tells the story of a woman’s self-empowerment and sexual awakening. 

10 Code M

This show is on ALTBalaji and Zee5 and Jennifer Winget did her digital debut with Code M playing the character of a fauji.  Jennifer plays the character of Monica Mehra unravels a murder mystery as she is assigned to an open and shut case, but the case takes twists and ends up being an encounter. Also stars Rajat Kapoor and Tanuj Virwani.
